Move To Stand
Move to Stand make beautifully crafted devised theatre that combines the poetic with the colloquial, and the mythic with the everyday.
The company is led by Artistic Director Martin Bonger (NIE, The Plasticine Men). They regularly collaborate with a range of other talented artists, including Ben Kidd (Headlong’s Spring Awakening), Alex Swift (Caroline Horton’s Mess), Merce Ribot (Little Soldier Productions) and Richard Kiess (Scamp Theatre’s Stick Man).
The company’s first show was the award-winning The Collision of Things. Described as “stunning in its honest simplicity, multi-faceted characterisation and visual symbolism” (Total Theatre), the show visited the Edinburgh Fringe and toured across the UK.
The critically acclaimed Fat Man saw Artistic Director Martin Bonger take on the role of Orpheus - who is busy doing stand up for the gods. In the Guardian, Lyn Gardner called it “full of wounded heart… a show that lingers in the mind”.

“For theatre like this, I'd follow Bonger anywhere.”
