Odd Doll
Odd Doll create puppetry theatre for adults and family audiences using experimental visuals, live music and collected stories. With a strong belief in all things bizarre Odd Doll take their inspiration from fairytales, the beauty of circus and dance, the absurdity of clown and the power of live original music. Their theatre aims to open up an imaginary world where anything is possible and nothing is predictable.
The company is led by Kathleen Yore and Rebekah Caputo, working with a range of guest collaborators.
Kathleen gained a first class honours degree in acting at Bretton Hall. She now works as a puppet maker, puppeteer, clown, musician and workshop facilitator. She has worked with Pickled Image, Invisible Thread and Pif-Paf Theatre.
Rebekah has a Masters in Creative Practice and been an associate lecturer in puppetry at Leeds College of Art. She regularly delivers education projects with various organisations, including Phoenix Dance, Northern Ballet and Opera North.
Together they were founder members of Chotto Ookii Theatre Company, who won the Total Theatre Best Newcomers Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Odd Doll’s first show was The Trick (“utterly mesmerising” - The List). They are now touring family show The Worried Walrus and developing a new piece for adults, Red Rust, which will tour in 2017.
