We’re delighted to announce that two of our artists have recently been awarded funding through Arts Council England’s Grants for the Arts scheme.
Jack Dean is developing his first piece for family audiences, Horace and the Yeti. The show has been jointly commissioned by ARC Stockton and The Civic, Barnsley. He will be rehearsing in the two venues in the New Year, before premiering the show during February half term. An eco-adventure for 3-7 year olds, the show sees intrepid Victorian adventurer Horace trying to track down the legendary Abominable Snowman, so that he can impress the Queen and become famous.
Move to Stand, who recently scored a hit with Fat Man, are developing a new show called The Messenger, which will be completing a Research & Development period working with Tobacco Factory Theatres, Bristol; North Wall, Oxford; The Bike Shed, Exeter; and Live Theatre, Newcastle. The show is set during The Black Death and explores the medical and religious mythologies we use to understand the world.
