Bailiffs
By Adam Z. Robinson
“Some kids were scared of the bogey man. Our mother used to tell us the bailiffs were coming to get us.”
The Hartley sisters are in debt. To the bank. To the bookies. To each other. Their penniless mother is on death’s door. Their high-rise family home is being threatened with demolition. Before the walls come down, some devastating home-truths must be laid to rest. The family need to come together and settle what they owe or lose everything. And the bailiffs know they’re home…
LittleMighty has been working with Adam on an Arts Council funded Research & Development period on the project, supported by venues including Harrogate Theatre, Slung Low’s HUB in Leeds and Bradford Theatre in the Mill. He is now completing a fresh draft of the play, which will be taken to full production and tour in 2016.
“Thank you for last Friday’s reading. It was so great to end the week seeing such a well written and complex piece of work – it really stayed with me throughout the weekend.”
Hannah Bentley, Arts Council England
